Prayer request from Kelley Massey:
"My Dad's PET scan showed no cancer left in his esophagus or lymph nodes. However, the best chance for survival is to go ahead and remove the affected area. Recurrence rate is around 75% without surgery. "
"He will have the Ivor Lewis surgery at 6am tomorrow morning at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando. This is a long (4-6 hour) and risky surgery. They basically remove the lower portion of the esophagus and the top portion of the stomach and reattach them. It is a long and tough recovery after surgery. My brother, sister and I will be flying in and out of Orlando to stay with him during his 14-17 day (estimated) stay. My shift will be from this Sunday, Jan 29 to Thursday, Feb 2. Please pray for the doctor and hospital staff as well as our family."
