We had a low turnout for today's class, so we used the time to generate some ideas of what our next topic for the class should be. We've got about four lessons left in the book that we are currently using and we thought it would be a good idea to start looking into the next topic. Here's some suggestions that were made:
"The Parent Factor" by Robert S. McGee; also "Discipline with Love" by Robert S. McGee
One of the books by Charles F. Stanley
"Spiritual Living in a Secular World" by Bill Crowder (available through Cokesbury)
"A Hopeful Earth: Faith, Science and the Message of Jesus" (available through Cokesbury)
"Bonhoffer", a video-based series (available through Cokesbury)
There was also the idea that we could have a number of us come up with lessons of our own that would last for three or four Sundays; a "round-robin" of teachers and subjects.
Next Sunday is the much-anticipated "Food Sunday". This will give those who are present (Fall Break will lower attendance) to discuss these ideas further.
