Prayer Request - Gina's Father

Gina's dad will be having a double bypass in the morning. Please pray for travel mercies for Gina, that she get there swiftly and safely; for peace of mind for her mother who is very stressed, and for a good outcome and quick healing for her father.

Also, Pat will now have to juggle the harried Saturday schedule alone, so keep him in your prayers too!

Mark Rice's Dad

Just wanted to pass this along. I spoke with Duane earlier this evening; he had just spoken with Mark. Mark is in good spirits; he is relieved that his Dad is with Our Lord and is out of pain as his dad was suffering for a while now. Mark and his siblings are arranging a memorial service sometime in the future to honor his dad and we'll keep everyone up to date.

Class Mission/Financial Goals - Let us HEAR you!

Hey, it's Duane. I would like to get more comments, suggestions, and concerns about the whole service project/mission/financial goals thing from you.

I desperately need your feedback for two reasons;
1. I know that I am not objective in this matter.
2. We ran out of time last Sunday.

Please post your comments anonymously. Let your voice be heard here. Jenn has opened up the blog so that we have the ability to post anonymously, however, it leaves us open to spammers. So we are putting a deadline for anonymous posting of Monday 9-15.

We need to determine:
- do we want to make developing the church's property off of Old Freewill Rd our class project?
- what other projects would we want to take on - either as one time projects or ongoing missions?
- how do we decide? In order to keep from overextending our already overextended selves, AND be sure that everyone is able to contribute according to their talents, are there principles or key concepts that we can use to 'vet' our project ideas?

We don't want to talk the thing to death, but it's important that everyone can express their concerns and ideas freely, so this seemed a good forum. Click on the word 'comment' below this post, and you will be taken to a screen where you can type your comments. You can click the Anonymous button to leave your post un-named. Then you can come back at any time and read the other comments that were given.

Saturday's Retreat

Does anybody have a devotional teaching/preaching lesson they might want to "lead" the adults in after lunch? (It could be a workshop on marriage, prayer, fruits of the spirit, the beattitudes......) I'm going to lead the singing with 4-5 songs with the families. Afterwards, Julie K. and AJ Rice are going to do activities with the kids. The adults will need to engage in 40-50 minutes of something worshipful in order to fulfill the request of the retreat owners. I have some excellent sermons on my ipod that, if we are really desperate, we could listen through a "boom box". Anyone with an idea?.....anyone?.....Bueller?

Thanks,

Allen
