Service project

Dear friends we have a new opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ.
An elderly couple needs some help with clean up from the tornado damage.
He said it would mostly be racking up the remnants of having trees and stumps removed from his property.
So there will be things that the younger ones can assist with.
If you only have one or two members of your family that can help, we can set up a car pool from church.
If there is any interest in car pooling we will meet at the church at 8:15, and be on site at 9:00.
Please let us know if you can help with this project.
The address is 3211 Archer Lane which is off Dalton Pike.
My cell # is 303-6117, Julies is 303-6116

God Bless,
Dave Klohs

Prayer request - Kelley Massey

Got this message from Kelley this afternoon - she asked me to share with the class:
Last Monday, my Dad found out that he has a mass where his esophagus meets his stomach.  He has been having trouble eating for a few weeks, had it checked and the doc ordered a scope.  They told him that is was most likely cancer.  We got confirmation today that it is indeed cancer.  HOWEVER...it is VERY small and as far as they can tell on the CT scan it has not spread at all.

He is in the process of obtaining an appointment at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando. He plans to have his surgery there. It is a comprehensive center and incorporates nutritional and spiritual counseling in addition to the physical treatment plan.  His doctor here believes that after it is removed, the Center may or may not recommend chemo or radiation. He believes the prognosis is excellent.

While no diagnosis of cancer is good, we are thrilled that the news was best case scenario as opposed to worse case (which with esophageal cancer is indeed the very worst.)

He didn't want us to share the news until he had confirmation. That is why I haven't told you earlier.

Just wanted to let you guys know what is going on. The news will most likely be "on the street" tomorrow since he's given us the go ahead to share.

Just please keep him in your prayers.  :-)
